Here's the deal man...you simply must have a service manual for this vehicle in order to be able to move forward!

But...which vehicle are you discussing here???

It has been a while but iirc, the sv engines didn't have a rear motor mount. The transmission hung on the rear of the engine and the transmission had a mount.

I work on cat engines. 3116 engines are known as 1.1 engines, meaning they are 1.1 liters per cylinder. Do you know how to set the rack on this engine, along with the injector height? You will need to have the tools to do this procedure. The tools used to do this are not cheap. Cat's are not a cheap to repair. Just a piece of advice. If your going to stick a diesel in your pickup, why not a 6.9 or 7.3 idi?? Or a 4bt or 6bt cummins? I deal with caterpillar engines on a daily basis, that is all I work on, and they expensive to repair. 3116 engines don't have a great track record in trucks, they did ok in heavy equipment. Injector cups like to leak, same with they oil cooler, water pump...

6.9 and 7.3 are good engines. I just wanted to. Be gettibe different. Thealong with the cummins are too pricey and just too common.tools I will be purchasing, along with the manual toset the injectors.
