Default Straight vs tilt column turn signal cam

What is the difference in the cam between the straight and tilt column? I ordered one for a straight, but it won't fit over the taper on the shaft. The shaft hole is too small in diameter. The cam is green in color vs. white (if that tells you anything). Is the tilt shaft a smaller diameter?

To be clear, this is the ring with the horn contact post, not the turn signal return-to-center mechanism.
