Default fan shroud gap ??

scout II 345

does this gap around the edge of the fan shroud effect cooling any?

To expound, the goal is to draw only cool air through the front of the radiator, not super-heated air from the sides. The other thing that isn't ideal about that extended mounting tab is it places the rear pitch of your fan blades all the way inside the shroud body. The ideal arrangement is to have roughly the rear half of the blade pitch exposed with the front half inside the shroud.

Are there any idea on how to line up the shroud properly with the 1 inch body lift ?

You can seal the side gaps with whatever material makes sense. That would be the most important thing. You could trim an inch around the circumference of the engine side of the shroud. Some people are naturally hesitant to hack up those shrouds.

I usually buy 3-4" wide foil tape from the local Home Depot, the stuff designed for hot air ducts. Apply to both the shroud and radiator to cover the gap. Can look a tad funky but is very effective in covering up the gap. If you ever need to service the waterpump or whatever, cut the tape, then reapply upon assembly.
