Top terminal is S for start, bottom terminal is R for resistor. Other end can either go all the way to coil POS or just to the coil side of the ballast, whichever you prefer.

Had to pull the passenger exhaust manifold anyway due to rot, so got a picture. Is that the R terminal circled? Thanks. Just want to be sure so I dont burn this thing to the ground! 😀

1978 Scout II with 1977 345 engine
Four wheel drive Dana 44 Axle's, Dana 20 T-Case, Power Steering, Power Brakes (Disc/Drum), no A/C.
Manual trans, Borg Warner 3-speed w/floor shift.
Prestolite distributor with petronix.
Fuel System: New 19Gal. Poly tank/Sending unit from IHPartsAmerica, Nylon fuel line, relined original fuel neck filler tube, rebuilt Holley 2245 Carb.
Unknown non-oem modifications

That's it. No fear of fire by hooking to the wrong one. You just wouldn't get the benefit. I'd give all those terminals some love. They look pretty crusty. Do it with your battery unhooked though.
