![]() I am rebuilding a 1966 Scout. It has a 152 in it and needs a new head. I have looked everywhere for one and it seems like they don't exist. The casting number off mine is 216368-r2. I found a head on ebay but the number was different (216365-r3). Will this head work? What all kinds of heads will work for it? Do you have any tipps where I could get one?

![]() All you need to know is if your engine cane with flat top pistons of the contoured ones. Does it have the air injection ports over the exhaust posts.
The 152 uses the same head as the 304 the combustion chamber for the flat top is d shaped, the contoured chamber is more of less round and fully open.

![]() There is not a comprehensive list of IH cylinder head casting numbers. You need to look up the number you are asking about in the factory parts book and see it's application.
Can you post photos of the head 216365-r3? Need a shot of the intake posts and combustion chamber and I can tell you.

![]() I found the listing and that is wrong. That head is a 196/392 or 345 head.
The intake ports are the key. All 304/152 engines had square ports, the ones pictured are (rectangular) long in the vertical axis.
