Default 2 barell holley 2300 Carb- base plate replacent question

hello all. Its been a while but im back on the forums and back to working on my 67 pickup. I am rebuilding the carb and have the rebuilt kit with me. I pulled off the old unit and found out that one of the corners where you bolt it to the manifold cracked off

would anyone recommend JB welding this, or purchasing a new base plate? I know Holley sells them new but it looks like vacuum tips and not screws on the base plate where I believe mine has set screws.

go easy on me as I am not the top qualified mechanics like everyone else here

I moved your thread to the appropriate category. That breakage happens when fasteners get overtightened. Unfortunately, that throttle body is ruined. The JB Weld won't hold up to fuel exposure, and you're just asking for major vacuum leaks even if it could hold. The other mounting ears are likely warped from similar excess bolt torque. By your description, I'm assuming you have an original equipment Holley 2300 with the idle mixture screws located in the rear of the body. The replacement you mentioned is for the more modern, aftermarket 2300 and is incompatible with you carb. You either need to source and original 2300 throttle body, or better yet, replace the carb with a Holley list 80350 or 0-7448 350 cfm. Those older, original 2300 carbs aren't all the same. There were many variations. Mixing and matching parts to make a Frankencarb can often lead to headaches that can be difficult to get rid of. My suggestion would be a a complete replacement in some fashion rather than mix and match.

Thank you so much for the response. I took it to a local guy who only fixed carbs so im hoping he has something original to mine. I dont have enough skill set to upgrade to a new one with the vacuum nozzles. i should have taken a picture. when i put it back on the truck what should be the torque settings for these bolts?

one other question or I can call Holley and ask them. What would be the differences between the two part numbers you gave me? its like 475$ which isn't bad if im already paying 225$ to have mine rebuilt and its broken. are those set screws for adjustments on the carb once its back on running?

Can someone tell me what the part with the arrow in the picture is?

I think I found a rebuilt on summit racing but they cant tell me if it comes with a base plate with set scews. Hopefully my local carb guy pulls though or I will just call Holley tomorrow.
