![]() Does anyone have a picture of their finished scout ii spring perch?
I'm not looking for a picture of the axle housing I'm looking for a picture of the actual CPT perch. How much I need to cut out of it to fit my housing. I've ground the housing area round in prep for this. I just received my CPT reverse shackle and SOA kit for my SII from IHpartsamerica. It's a wicked set up and can't wait to get it all installed. I'm sure I'll have more questions during this overall install. The other thing I'm seeking info on is the location and mounting of the Ford shock towers. |

Winchested, if I am following you correctly you should be able to set the perch on the axle tube against the ground down housing and scribe it. this will tell you how much to take out and will ensure both perches sit the same distance up from from the axle tube on both sides. Nice to see you over here as well. Damian |

![]() That is actually ingenious and the more I think about it the more I can't wait to get to it.
Just got to finish this kitchen. I should be welding by Thursday or Friday hopefully! |

![]() Set your axle on jack stands so it is level and use a third jack stand or blocks to set your pinion at the correct angle. If you are pointing the pinion at the t case for a cv shaft do it all under the truck with an angle finder to make sure it's correct. You want the weight of the truck on the suspension. Use a level to make sure your spring perch is level when you scribe it. Best thing is to tack weld everything together (including the reverse shackle) and put the suspension together on the truck to make sure everything is correct. If it is you can weld everything up A lot of work but worth it.

![]() Post #3 of my build has some pics.
https://forums.ihpartsamerica.com/sh...ad.php?t=11595 Not complete but should help. I'm sure you can find others either here or over at BP. I'm no expert on this but research and careful measuring will get you through it correctly. Hope this helps Damian |

![]() My problem is right now I've got no weight on the frame as the engine is out and the tub is off.
My plan is to use CVs I've got two bronco shafts to cut down or extend and use. I've got to take the perch to work and use a plasma cutter to make that cut on both sides. |

When I did mine I put the engine, trans and tcase in, then did the suspension. You really should get the engine, trans, t case in so you can get your driveshaft angles correct. Read through this build. It's an 800 but similar with reverse shackle. Not spring over though. https://forums.ihpartsamerica.com/showthread.php?t=9191 |

![]() Okay I will do that. I'll put some extra weight from some dumb bells on there too.
I'm using stock S2 springs with one extra main leaf inserted to support the eyes a bit better. I might even drop the body back on for mock up then tack weld everything and pull it all back out to finish weld and paint. |
