![]() Good Day,
I've been thru all the various threads on this issue and still not clear on the proper PSI Cap. Should it be 7 or 13? As always as a newbie to the Scout world I appreciate all the excellent information I've received from previous posts, as well as, the what I've learned from the many others already on this site. Thanks, Sam |

![]() Depending on the year of your Scout will dictate which cap to use. For Scout 80/800's with no overflow tank, we use and sell a 7lb Radiator Cap And for Scout II and 69-75 Pickup/Travelall we use a 16# Radiator Cap.

![]() Does anyone know what pound cap for a 77/78 Scout 2 with an overflow tank? I’ve seen both the 7 lb cap and 13 lb cap talked about. Thanks!

![]() I just replaced all my radiator/heater hoses/thermostat/cap, etc. Is it normal that I do not get any radiator fluid back in the reservoir tank, even after the engine is up to temp and driven on the highway? I don't see any leaks, and it has done this for years...very little to no radiator fluid ever goes to the reservoir tank. Thanks!

![]() As you fill the radiator, the overflow bottle should also have an amount of coolant added to it, as there is a LOW/FULL mark on the bottle. It can take a while to purge all the air out of the cooling system. As air is purged out, coolant from the overflow will be drawn in to replace it. Eventually, the level in the overflow will stabilize, letting you know that all the air has been purged from the system.
