Onto the big fix: I uncovered the top plate for the first time, looks like a T98, or a t18, but considering the trucks matching engine and likely original t-case, I doubt its a t18. ...

Im going to have to put something else through it I think. Theres still a LOT of rust in there, looks like I cut maybe 35-45% of what was in the upper rad tube. Dont know about the rest of it though....

The factory heater valve was still in place on my heater, however given the bypass and rust I think it was likely the culprit of a fairly serious leak....

There are a number of reasons to savagely rip apart your heater, everything from non functional frozen controlls to leaking coolant all over your passenger's feet....
