Cool, take your time.

...also, I see the throttle cable control is not hooked up and the throttle return springs are not hooked up.

Those should be hooked up properly for the carb to function...

The carb looks like an old Carter AFB from the early 60's.
The p/n 4-4640SA appears to be a part number of one of the major parts of the carb, not the carb itself,...although I would need to do...

No, that one is the windshield washer fluid tank.

The radiator overflow tank is larger and more rectangular shaped.

I suspect your Scout II originated in California, due to the fuel vapor canister in the second photo.
That style with the four hoses was only used in CA, I...

The first photo is the heater.

The second photo is the fuel evaporation canister.

Both are standard equipment.

Brand name is REMFLEX.
Part number is 10-003. Do NOT use any sealant. Torque to 20 - 25 ft. lb.
Follow the directions that come with the gasket.

There is a much better gasket than stock for this application.

Yes, that is the power source for electrical power for the cab, etc.
The control circuit for the starter is fed by that source.

Wether the Ammeter is good or bad, you can fabricate a 6" long...
