Re: Dana 27 Rear Pinion Assembly

The singer is the big washer behind the bearing and before the yoke. The seal is fixed in the housing before the yoke goes in.

Re: BRAND NEW INTERNATIONAL SCOUT TAIL LIGHTS

If they are NOS with IH part numbers they may be worth it. If they are repros available on Amazon they sell for under $50 a pair brand new.

Re: Hesitation

Where are you in Canada? I'm in southern Ontario. Should have just installed a new Holley 2300 carb.

Have you gone through the carb tuning procedure as set out in the service manual?

Re: Scout 80 and Miata Engine

There likely is no adapter plate made to make that engine bolt to an IH trans/transfer case? And what do you plan on doing for the fuel injection?

Re: Scout II Frame VS Jeep swap

The only cracking I have heard of was the steering box area which is normal on most old vehicles GMs especially. The other was the front rear spring hangers getting ripped off when hitting...

Re: Scout II Frame VS Jeep swap

Depends what kind of money you want to spend. If you have access to a JK frame. It has to be cut down to match the wheelbase. And body mounts added.

Fuel location has to change most likely.

Re: Front Bucket Seats

Corbeau makes seats and makes transition brackets for the Scout bases.

Anything else will need custom fab to make the sliders work to the stock bases.

I used 06' cobalt SS seats (same as...

Re: Scout II Suspension

You're 31s fit fine with no lift.

I did SOA with 1.5" body lift. And currently have 32s which are way too small.

4" spring under id go min 32s but likely 33's with a 1" body lift.

Re: 1978 Scout II

Good luck with sale, the rust around the front right fender and cowl is pretty suspect. Looks like that paint job is hiding a lot of body work.

Re: 71' 800 CPT Crawler Lift Kit - Specs

Looks to me like that new front cross member was not welded in properly and that is likely where the frame has twisted.

Pull the axle out, put stands under the frame sides and cut that cross...

Re: What is this hole in the timing cover for?

Ya put a cup style expansion plug in there with some sealant around it. Hopefully you don't have to take the timing cover back off to get a straight whack at it.
