Re: Clearance for tie rod?

Evan,

The shims go on top of the leaf spring with the thicker side towards the front of the vehicle. If you clamp the leaf spring on both sides of the center pin with two C clamps or large vise...

Re: Clearance for tie rod?

Evan,

Underneath the item description on the invoice is the chosen V8 (/6cyl) or 4cyl option. That is either the -8 or a -4. From what I can see, you have chosen the correct -8 one and it is...

Re: Clearance for tie rod?

Evan,

The V8 and 6cyl used the same tie rod assembly, so that is the one you would need to choose. Thanks.

Re: Set Parking Brake Sticker

We don't have that decal currently.

I would give Mike @ ScoutCo a call as he can probably make that for you if he doesn't already have it. http://www.scoutcoproducts.com/interior

Thanks.

Re: Correct temperature sensor for AMC 232?

Evan,

If you have the factory gauges, then you will need this sending unit: https://www.ihpartsamerica.com/store/SL407254C1.html

It is 1/4 NPT so if you need 3/8 NPT, then you can purchase a...

Re: trouble with IH engine to GM transmission adapter

We had a kit on the shelf and put it together up in the shop this morning. The flex plate spacers did measure out at .902. The crank spacer needed to be sanded a bit to get all the rust out of it so...

Re: What is the difference between a disc brake wheel and drum wheel?

If directly above the brake drum area is 12.5" in diameter, then it won't fit over a caliper. If that measurement is more over the wheel mounting surface and it gets larger over the drum, then you...

Re: What is the difference between a disc brake wheel and drum wheel?

The disc brake wheels are very "square" on the inside with the drum brake wheels being angled by the wheel mounting flange. All the factory S80/800 15" and 16" wheels won't work with the disc brakes....

Re: Now Available - CPT Front Frame X Brace for 1971-80 Scout II, Terra or Traveler

If your LS engine is installed in roughly the same location as the IH engine, you should be good to go if you have a rear sump oil pan. If the engine is lower in the frame and/or forward, then it may...

Re: CPT Drag link on a 2WD Scout 800?

This would be a factory Scout application as it doesn't really work with the steering box location of them. Yours is a bit lower, so that disclaimer doesn't really apply. Thanks.

Re: CPT Drag link on a 2WD Scout 800?

I just took a look at the flat pitman arm and we can ream it for the next size larger tie rod end from the top down. It would have the ES150's on both sides of the drag link which are readily...

Re: CPT Drag link on a 2WD Scout 800?

It does look like you have plenty of tie rod clearance, so no need for the caster shims.

The tie rod ends we use are all the same degree of taper, so we can ream a pitman arm to fit different...

Re: CPT Drag link on a 2WD Scout 800?

We haven't installed one of these kits on a 2wd Scout yet. If I remember correctly, the 2wd tie rods are wider than the stock 4wd ones. It has plenty of adjustment so that won't be an issue, but we...

Re: RS rear shackle hole location.

The angle normally changes about 5* once you go from the wooden block to actually bolting the shackles on, so 10* is about the final angle. If you are light on the weight, then I would go for 3-4* as...
