Re: Carter Thermoquad "Spreadbore" Stuff

Mr. Mayben,
I see in the pic in post #19 you have the "s" link on the accelerator pump the opposite direction as mine and it looks like you have adjusted your "s" link for more of a shot. I...

Re: door hinge pins?

I just did this last weekend. Take the doors off and get a good punch and hammer and knock the pins out. You will see they only come out one way. Some May tell you to Mark where your doors line up...

Re: body work best way to take care of this rust

I really don't want to replace the entire quarter mainly because the rest of it is perfect, it's just this section that is bad. This is by no means going to be a show truck, but I do want to...

Re: Carter Thermoquad "Spreadbore" Stuff

I took some pics of my set up thinking maybe you see something wrong. What do you think about the kickdown linkage?, it seems to stick sometimes. Haven't checked the fuel pressure yet, but it's on...

Re: Carter Thermoquad "Spreadbore" Stuff

What do you set your thermoquad floats to? I have mine set at 29/32 in. My fuel delivery from the tank should be good. I just installed a new 33 gallon tank, and have 3 filters, one right after...

Re: Carter Thermoquad "Spreadbore" Stuff

I tried what you said and it's no better. By the way I unhooked both the rods that connect the vacuum pulloffs to the carb to totally eliminate that. I do have a temporary manual choke I control...

Re: Carter Thermoquad "Spreadbore" Stuff

Finally got the truck drivable. I set the metering rods following the IH manual directions. At 15/32 it was very lean, I couldn't hardly accelerate without a backfire. So, I adjusted to make them...

Thank you for the help,
