Re: Cheapish 74 2wd Travelall Lift

On my T'ette, a switch of the main leaf from a 1210 to an 1110 netted a 1.5"lift. The eyes on the 1210 spring are turned down and the 1110's are up.

Those shims are set to remove castor. Remove the shims and replace worn parts and then take it to a good shop for an alignment.

One possibility is that the dizzy is installed a tooth off and the rotor is not aligned with a terminal. Also check the coil & plug wires for continuity.

Re: 73 Scout grinding while shifting

Usually what is described is a worn out syncro. With it in 3rd and you accelerate then decelerate, how much does the shifter move fore and aft? Much movement over an inch is indicative of wear.
