Default Rear Axle ID

Ok folks, I need some help. For the life of me, I cannot ID my rear axle. I have a '66 1100A pickup and above the pinion the numbers "65703 R3" and "A 9 21 M" are stamped on a little plate. Any help is appreciated.

What's the wheel lug pattern? That almost looks like Ford 9", but don't take that as gospel.

It's probably an IH RA10 rear axle. Best way to confirm would be to order a Line Set Ticket.

My lug pattern all the way around is 5x4.5.

I'm fairly certain that I have an RA10 axle. I've done some research and that is what it appears to be.

My next question is: Where can I buy ring and pinion gears for this axle??

Ring and Pinion sets for these axles are not available anywhere that I am aware of.

From the picture...definitely does not look like a Dana axle and more like a ford 9. As a kid I remember wandering through junk yards for Scout parts...there was this one junkyard that had a whole row of Scout 80s with pumpkin covers removed, half of them had busted ring gear teeth. My guess is that someone may have replaced the axle from stock. So is the RA-10 axle not a Dana? Just checked my service manual and I do not see a listing for RA-10.

I just found a few years old thread over on Binder Planet which indicates the axle in question is likely either an RA-5 or 6 as evidenced by the wheel lug pattern. Definitely not a Dana, or a Ford 9".

I read the Binder Planet thread...thanks for the link Scoutboy and 1975IH200 for the info...Who makes the RA-10 Axle? Timkin, Rockwell, did International make commercial light truck axles?
