That's a lot of questions chris most of which I cannot answer. All I can say is we designed and built the front suspension to operate the best in most any circumstance. My advice to you is to not bother with the four link front unless you plan on full hydraulic steering which is not dot approved.

Yeah I gave up on the four. No room for everything. Want something simple. This looks like it. Bought a used terra to experiment on, see how it turns out. Thanks Jeff.

I've got to get a some pictures of the latest work on the Scout. Namely the tire carrier, oba system, and new dash. In the meantime here's one cruising in baja late in 09 and a shot of the new km2/trail ready combo.

It sickens me to get into my Scout now...

That being said, you have by far the cleanest build on a Scout... Or any vehicle in that manner that I have seen in my whole life. But I guess my Scout only costed me the price of one tire and wheel on your Scout lol, beautiful man!

Saw you today paul, incredible truck, wish I wasn't in a hurry would have stopped and eyeballed your outfit closer at the river than the 20mph coming off the Missouri river bridge. I'm sure your a proud owner. You and everyone at IHPA have done a fabulous job on your Scout. Truly one of a kind, I'm sure it performs well. Be safe, nebraska roads suck.

Looking back its been quite some time since I posted up on the builds so I thought I would do some updating on some of our builds. These pictures date back to November, 2009 up to current.

Getting back to the seats Darren finished up the fabrication of the mounts.

With the roof rack will come more weight(especially when loaded down for a long trip). So with that said air bags were installed into the rear coils to help with some extra load capacity.

With the hard top back from the painter it was carefully lowered onto the Scout.

With the hard top installed the roof rack went on for the last time.

Some pics of the Scout with its slightly new look(at our old shop).

Paul got a ride from his Mom and was ready to take the Scout on another long trip. One last thing paul needed was a spare tire rack so this one was quickly fabricated for the trip(but to be completed later).

Now into January of 2010 paul was back from his long trip and back to get some more gremlins worked out of the Scout. One was the air cleaner as it kept working it's way loose on the wash board roads so Darren fabbed up a much more sturdier one.

Another gremlin that was lurking was in the dash.

Yes this dash that looks so sweet, stock and innocent.

What was behind this laminated wood grain panel you ask?

This!

And this!

And more!

Yes it was ugly under there! So many add-ons thru the years had really made a huge spaghetti type mess of it all. So it was time to do something about it.

Along with the electrical also we had some more suspension work to do. With the rear airbags replacing the rear bumpstops we needed to address the fact that the rear no longer had any bumpstops and needed some installed otherwise those new pretty red airbags were not going to survive for long. So another set of Bilstein hydraulic bumpstops were fabbed in.

Before paul left for his last trip a basic tire carrier was fabbed up but still needed to be completed. So Darren started by building the tire rack a nice sturdy latch.

The tire rack itself had some more brackets and mounts welded to it in order to hold the license plate, gas can, hi-lift jack, spare tire and cb antenna mount.

Now back to the electrical. Here are all the goodies that are going into the Scout.

The gauge panel is pre-wired for easier installation and access for removal if needed.

The original dash was trimmed to match the contours of the new gauge panel.

Darren makes a kick ass sub-woofer box that is designed to be bolted to the back of tuffy center console.

The amplifier and ham radio were mounted under the seats. Shields were made to keep them safe under the seats.

A speaker and tweeter were mounted in the doors.

A cb was installed into the center console.

On-board air was also installed at this time. Darren fabbed up a custom mount for the sanden compressor and lines were run to a tank sacrificed from a harbor freight cheepo air portable compressor.

A view from the captains chair.

With all the electrical goodies securely mounted they were all wired in.

Additional fuse panels were installed in the tuffy box for all the electrical components.

The factory speaker located on the Scout II dash always makes for a great spot to mount any additional gauges, switch panels, etc. On paul's a switch panel for the ARB's, on-board air, offroad lights, etc was installed.

Here's a picture of the air manifold that was used in conjunction with the ARB's, on-board air and air bags.

The hose's for the on-board air were all custom made and run to their appropriate places.

The sanden compressor uses the same pulley that was once used for the smog pump.

The air manifold was installed on the right front inner fender.
