![]() Looking great! Now to see them mounted on the t-all.
I have decided that when it is time to get new rubber for my t-all that I am going to be getting the exact same cooper tire. I think your idea for paint--black on the inside and silver on the outside is a great idea. I just might have to copy your idea on my t-all. The only caution is that when you paint split rims you don't want to get too much paint on the lock rings or lock ring channel or it will make the lock rings difficult to seat. |

That is about the only tire other than being under 31.5 tall. The 750/16 is 32+ tall so unless you want a shorter tire that's about in. Or https://www.universaltire.com/truck-...-superlug.html https://www.universaltire.com/truck-...r-traxion.html

![]() So I get them on and take the t-ette for a drive, get back to the hangar, and my buddy reminds me that we are going to the grand national roadster show across the street at the fairplex in 30 minutes. Oooppps. I blasted out of there and forgot to take a photo.
![]() they do look good even with the blue crap on the rwl.

![]() I like the coopers.
I think both the superlug and the super traxion tires are going to sing really loud going down the highway with such deep shoulders. I wonder if the superlug will clean out very well with such a tight traction pattern. Like I said, I like the coopers. And I can get the coopers almost any day of the week at my local tire shop. |

![]() I like um too, and just pointing out that in this tall but skinny profile there are not many options.
I do think the front springs have sagged quite a bit, but can't tell how far from a factory level. Looks like if I had the springs re arched I might shoot for 3-4" in front and 2 out back. Should be ok like that. The springs look to be solid but low.

![]() Robert, I have a 63 t-ette and am looking at getting a 66 as well both of course have the split rims. I don't know jack about split rims. What's your procedure on painting the rims? Are the rims apart when you paint them?

![]() I break them down and have the wheels and lock rings media blasted inside and out to remove any foreign material including rust. It's very important to inspect the groove area for bad pitting, cracking and wear that May compromise the tongue and groove lock. Also the roundness of the ring. The end should be close together.
Inspect the centers around the lug holes for cracking and taper damage. These wheels use a 45degree/side 90 included tapered nut like a dually. All painting is done disassembled. Then I spray them with etching metal primer, with attention to only coat the ring tongue and mating groove lightly. I mask the ring tongue to prevent more paint on it. Spray the back of the wheel, in this case black and, the front silver along with the outer face of the ring. Note that the tire assembly is such that some paint damage will occur. I plan on toughing them up with a little brush and some spray paint in a cup.

![]() Finally had a chance to wash the t-ette. Liking like a river of milk in the driveway. Did clean up good including the blue coating on the new tires..
I snapped on a rough set of hub caps that were painted silver. I have a set of nicer ones that I will put on once I can polish them up. Some pix.

![]() Robert, I noticed the front hub cap does not have the cut out for the 4x4 hub which is the same deal on an original '66 I'm trying to get. The current owner said you pop of the hub cap to put it in four wheel drive. Is the way IH did it or is there supposed to be a hole in the hub cap?
