![]() Cool thanks for posting the dash area photo. Are you going to be able to use the e-brake handle in the stock location?
With the added gussets marked in yellow should do just fine. If you really want to make it safe, maybe one more vertical piece center of windshield from top horizontal tube down to dash horizontal tube. Maybe have it be removable for when you're not trail riding. I suggest this due to the fact that my windshield ended up colapsing flat down to the dash and steering wheel. Granted, what you have there already should do fine, but for the piece of mind. What size tube ya using? Dom?

![]() There is no parking brake, and it is all 1.20 wall 1 3/4 dom. I am debating puting some v bars in the windshield. I will have tabs to the windshield to stop it from shaking around since there will never be a top on it.

![]() I went and picked up a tb of of a sbc today and knock sensor and esc. The ruck fired up and runs pretty good. The idle was surging a bit until it went warmed up. It still has a slight stumble and backfire if I smashed the throttle. But is a night and day differance over the bbc tb and trying to bypass the knock sensor.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This dang cage kick my butt taking it out to get it 100% welded. To get it out I had to take off the windshield frame and go out over the hood. It was a tough job by myself. As I was sliding it off the front off the Scout it went faster then I thought and the back leg caught my foot. I ended up ass or teakettle , luckily I stayed on the hood instead of falling all the way to the ground.

![]() Looks good. I can totaly relate to pulling the cage out by your self. I just pulled mine out last Friday, so I can do some floor repair on the driver side. I have some what of an advantage of having an over head electric hoist here in my shop space. Just used it to lift up and out through the tail gate. Makes me wish the ceiling in here was 3 to 5 feet higher.
One thing I notice, since you're at it and have the cage out. Possibly one more gusset. From the center vertical piece to the rear. Kinda following the lines of the ones going up towards the lift gate. Maybe from the mounting foot diangonaly up toward the back. If that makes sense. Not sure if that be overkill or not, but it looks to be a long tube run with no triangulated support below it. Ok I'll zip it for now. Keep up the good work ![]()

![]() Whats the inside diameter the blue pipe? 16" or 17" figured they don't make 16.5 pipe.
Looks easy to get them out, guess you get to do a hula dance to get them back in.

I am not sure of the diameter, they came from trailready. I bought them used off a guy in lodi. Putting them back in was easy, I put a small ratchet strap around them to egg, then stood it up and blocked it so it would not roll. Then picked up the tire and threw it down on it. I found some 38 sx's on craigslist that was a screaming deal

![]() I boosted the pressure in the regulator on my TBI and it seems to be running a bit better, but I was having cooling issues with the radiator I had in it. So I bought an aluminum one from the hot rod shop that he said would have no problem keeping the 400 cool, but it needs a shroud. So the last couple days have been building a cradle mount for the rad and a shroud. I hope to have some time off this weekend to finish it up

![]() The Scout runs like a raped ape, I got tired of dealing with the TBI so I took it all out yesterday morning and threw a q-jet and hei in it. I think I am going to sell all the TBI stuff to make a little money back on it.

![]() I forgot I had this build here. I was hot ridding around and getting my rpms a bit higher then she could take. That small block 400 is toast. I picked up a TBI 350 to put in it as soon as the buggy is done.
