Thanks sledgehammer.....it gettin there.

Finally had the temp above 50* today, so I started on the tub. Took what I had left of some rust converter and painted the front lower part of the tub and started on the rubberized undercoating over the firewall and in the door jams. Then the wind picked up, so I had to stop for the day.

The body is mounted, that was a sight to see, not really "a one man job" even with an engine hoist. Ended up call ruthie and michael out to help. Brakes are hooked up and working, took forever to get the steering column hooked up and bolted in, it was like it was to long.....fought with it for over an hour. Triple checked, everything was loose and lubed. Took it back out and apart twice......then it just went together, no argument, just like it should????

Started fitting the driver seat, need to fab some brackets tomorrow, need to get some steel. Got the winshield mounted but havent aligned it yet, ran out of light.

Gettin there.....

no pics today, got to dark when I quit.

Got the doors on.......I can tell ya, I'm not very good at adjusting doors. Got them on and working, still have to do some adjusting, but at least there on. Changed the wing window and added some glass to the passenger door. Picked up some steel today, so I can start the mounting of the suspension seats. Have to go to the nut and bolt store to get new bolts to replace those damn #3 phillips screw/bolts that IH loved to use......think I'll go to allen heads.

I started thinking........since I have the falcon for a dd, I can leave the 345 in the trail rig. So today I pulled the plugs, fogged the cylinders, went to change the oil........and there is like 6 or 7 quarts of water in the pan. Dont know how it got in, the motor is sealed up, has an air cleaner, and I kept it covered with a tarp all the time.

The 345 is frozen solid!! Cant get it to move at all. So I guess "my easy way out, with just a trans swap" is. guess I should have checked it every so often. I will strip it down and see how bad its trashed and save what I can.

Anyway the trail rig is looking more like a sii everyday.

Sad to see the 196 is being dropped. Sadder to hear about your 345. Looks alot like a Scout I once knew. Only the bugger was never painted from there

No pics............got the driveshafts out of the 76, along with all the clutch linkage and pivot. Went to drain the radiator, pulled the plug and nothing came out, cap off, theres fuid in it? Took a small poker to it, there was solid sludge in the bottom of the radiator. Took almost 10 minutes of poking and rodding to start to get aome flow out of the thing. Didnt surprise me......the whole truck was filled with silt.....everywhere. The drivetrain is ready to pull now, probably tomorrow.

Got back to work on the trail rig today, been getting the falcon into dd status lately, and its almost there. So today I pulled the 196/t19 out of the frame and broke it apart. To my surprise the clutch, flywheel, throwout, rear main seal, and freeze plug inside the bell housing are all new!! The only thing I didn't like was the pilot bearing.......feels kinda notchy and not smooth when I spin it. Guess I'll clean everything up and put it back together with a new bearing.......woohoo!!

Nice day today....did some work around the house and got back on the trail rig. Pulled all the acc off the 345 and pulled it today. Still have to drop the t-case and bw11 out and then finish painting the top/front of the frame.

Riddle me this? I've never seen a sii with a track bar?

Did this rig have a "sway bar" between the front shackles?
