Default bolt patter change

guys/gals i have s dumb question. i want to change my bolt pattern from 5x5.5 to 8x6.5 I want to do this for better, cheaper ,easier brakes parts( i will be keeping disc/drum setup) I have a d44 front/d60 rear. if i used a E250/E350 rear axle and snag the axle shafts/drums/backing plate, parking brake cables will it slide in and bolt up to my d60??

This is in my pickup

44 f and 60 r should already be 8 on 6 1/2 , unless it is an 1110 with a towing package rearend in which case your front is probably a small ball 44, is this your setup? or is it the rig in your signature with a big ball 44 in front?

Can't be a D60 rear with 5 by 5.5" pattern, especially not in '73. D60's have an 8 lug pattern and the accompanying HD D44 front driving axle also has the same 8 lug pattern. This would be in a 1210 3/4 ton. An 1110 half ton would have D44 front and rear axles with the 5 lug pattern.

Yeah, post the pics. But, like I said, an 1110 is not a 3/4 ton. Its a half ton. That means it doesn't have a D60 rear. It has a D44 rear and a D44 front, both 5 lug. The D60 rear is a full floating axle while the D44 is a semi-floater. The axle shafts on the D60 can be slid out of the housing without having to remove the wheel and the drum. To get the D44 axle shafts out, you have to pull the wheel, drum and bearing retainer. If you had a 1210 instead of an 1110, it would have the D60 8 lug rear and a the HD D44 8 lug front.

You might have a Dana 60-5, which is a Dana 60 center section with Dana 44 tubes and shafts. 5 x 5.5 wheel bolt pattern. Used on some half ton pickups and Travelalls.

I stand corrected. Scott nailed it. You're still not going to be converting it to 8 lug. You'd be better off swapping out the whole housings for 8 lug axles.

what is the front axle out of? a 73 1110 4x4 would have had a drum brake small ball 44 in front? or have you converted the small ball to disc brake?
on the rear the only way you will get 8x6.5 is change the axle assembly to an IH ff 60 or one from ford or dodge of similar vintage, just look at the wms to wms measurements and find out what is closest, seems chevy 14 bolt ff from 70's-80's is usually pretty close and the matching front axle is pretty much a drop in as well, a 3/4 ton will usually have 44 in front while a 1 ton will usually have a 6o in front, a 1 ton as long as it is a single wheel or cab and chassis the rear will still work.
