Default Leaf Spring Disaster

I have a 76 Scout XLC and it appears my Leaf Spring Brackets tore away a part of the frame. Of course that caused the front end to drop and rest upon the front tires. All is well but I'm concerned about the integrity of the frame going forward.

My '74 did this on the pass side. When you weld it back together, be aware that the plastic fuel line and the rear electric bundle passes thru the frame at this point. That was a bad day for me...

Other places to look for cracks/problems are at the steering box where it bolts to frame. The rest of the frame should be fine, assuming no prior injury.

mine did the same thing in moab 4 wheeling one year.

are you a good welder ? i am not and i had a hard time finding a 4x4 shop that would take on re welding and adding strength to that area. i finally did, and the bracing they did held up for 15 years. so what ever ya do add some sort of gusset bracing

Both sides of mine have been repaired. A friend at a muffler shop did a great repair. But look on the bright side, you are 25% into a reverse shackle conversion.
