Default New 4in suspension, New problems

I just added the 4in Rough Country lift to my 79' Scout 2. Springs went in well, but the front plate that attaches the two shackles together had to be pushed all the way back toward the cab. When it had the factory springs in it was pushed forward away from the cab.

What is going on with that? Will this affect anything?

Also, should the shock line up perfectly with the top hole, where they bolt into? As of now with the new Ubolt plates I have to push it in at a slight angle in order for it to line up with the hole.
