There's a petition at whitehouse.gov giving everyone the opportunity to let CA know how you feel. You don't have to be a CA resident. So check it out!

Re: Andy's 75 Scout 250

Should be a bolt in. '72 - '93 Dodges are pretty much the same under the skin.

Re: Getting title in CA

There's only light rust in that area. I wire brushed it and even side lighting the area and nothing shows up except some large faint hand painted numbers - paint pen?. There is a 4 digit number...

Re: Getting title in CA

The Scout I wound up getting came out of Nevada. It came with a signed over title from the previous owner and a bill of sale from the person I bought it from. CHP came out to the house to verify the...

Re: I actually paid money for this?

Thanks for checking in. Post up when you get started again, I need the inspiration. I'm too old to use the new kid excuse, but work and commute, crap house that needs everything, keeping the fleet...

Re: Steve's Expedition Scout Traveler

Very, very nice build. Do you have any pictures of the mid-ship tank installed?

Re: Camp Rattle can paint job

I like it. Can you buy the paint in quarts and spray it with a gun? Your index finger might get sore and rattle cans might get expensive!

Re: New Members please check in here

Regarding xixrebos 77 traveler, federal vs CA oe emissions equipment. Unless things have changed recently, you are not required to add CA emissions equipment to a fed emissions vehicle. It has to...

Re: scout II rear cargo mat ideas ?

For my last Scout I used a heavy duty reinforced rubber bed mat for a pick-up. Cut it to fit. I ran it from the step at the back seat, covered the whole back, and used the trim strip at the step to...

Re: New member to the family

A wife who loves scouts - what a find!

What are your plans, resto or mod? You could stay with six in a row; rebuild the original, 258 or even a 4.0 - but that one would require a 'puter.

Re: Andy's 75 Scout 250

Looking good. I've wondered how using the tubing will work with the bottom of front fender and bottom of rear quarter. Like you say, the heavier gauge steel tubing and mount will last a lot longer...

Re: Scout frame or Dodge frame?

So far, it looks like Scout frame. I really want to run the kelderman air ride in back so I'll have to look into what it will take to use it. There's quite a bit of difference in frame widths and...

Re: 77 diesel questions

I've got a tester but it's for spark plug holes, don't know the thread size of the injectors. I read somewhere that you can use an adapter in the glow-plug hole. I might just crank it with no fuel...

Re: The "Fuel Tank" Thread

I've seen a late seventies southern California rv products replacement tank for sale and was wondering if anyone knows anything about them? Are they baffled and what is the cost of boiling it out...

Re: 77 diesel questions

Yep it's got a turbo, but I'm thinking the turbo was added. The spec plate on the valve cover says 89 hp, it's painted yellow, all the clamps on the turbo hoses are regular ol' hose clamps, so I...

Re: 77 diesel questions

I pulled the oil fill cap and it was scunge free. Pulled the dipstick and she appears to be over full and the oil smells to me like it might have diesel fuel in it. I don't know anything about the...

Re: Scout frame or Dodge frame?

That would involve reinforcement "fish" plates? I've seen the blak falken build on pirate where much of the frame is plated on all sides. I won't be building a crawler just something that can hold...

Scout frame or Dodge frame?

The ultimate plan for the 77 traveler I just got is to stuff my 93 dodge ctd into it. The stock Scout frame won't be strong enough for the build and the dodge frame will require a lot of...

77 diesel questions

I just acquired a 77 traveler with the Nissan sd33. When I went to haul it home I saw that it had a little something way down there - second photo. I was told that it ran when the previous owner...
