Re: 1965 D1100 4x4 driver/project

An optimized cooling system is one that first allows the engine to reach normal operating temperature fairly quickly and then allow regular up/down fluctuation throughout a safe range during all...

Re: 1965 D1100 4x4 driver/project

That rad and shroud look like a matched set. An intact shroud like that one is probably as rare as hens teeth and worth twice its weight in gold boolyawn. Not unheard of for folks to convert their...

Re: 1965 D1100 4x4 driver/project

That's too bad it was cobbled in and in bad shape. A fan shroud is well worth having. You might be able have your parts truck radiator rodded out. It would at least be worth having a rad shop take...

Re: 1965 D1100 4x4 driver/project

Looking better. It would be illegal not to have turn signals in the rear. They weren't optional equipment. If it has brake lights, then it has turn signals too. They use the same bulb filament. ...

Sounds like you just need to get acclimated to it then.

Re: Need help with vacuum advance with 304 and 2300 Holley

Yeah, that should be fine for the res wire. Not much resistance to be had from that short of a chunk.
The stink you mention is often the result of a rich air to fuel ratio, as in more fuel and...

Re: Need help with vacuum advance with 304 and 2300 Holley

What did you do to address the resistor wire? What's the new carb that you put on? Is the choke functional? A brief warm up interval for a cold, carbed engine is to be expected. Much different...

Re: RA15 Differential Parts??

I don't see anything in the online store for that axle. You might try calling the IH Parts business office during normal biz hours to see if they can help you out.

What's the vehicle that the axle belongs to?

Re: fan belts for non a/c

Yep, I was going to suggest that. Should get you close anyway. Most stores are good about taking belts back if it turns out they don't work for you.
Looks like the work was well done by whoever...

Re: fan belts for non a/c

That's the one. Since the air pump would also be driven by a separate belt, I don't see that the lack or presence of said would have any impact on AC or ALT belt arrangements. Are the p/n's on your...

Re: fan belts for non a/c

If you look down in the classified section, there is a recent posting with pictures from a member selling a complete 345 engine with AC and air pump attached.

Re: fan belts for non a/c

If you tried to attach pics, something went wrong. Can't see anything.

Edit. I see them now.

That doesn't look like any of the stock SII AC belt configurations that I've seen.

Re: fan belts for non a/c

While the AC Comp is driven off the fan/WP pulley set, it is a separate belt riding on the outer pulley, independent of the alternator. As such, that belt can be removed at any time with no effect...

Re: Turn Signal indicator constant on.

Sounds like you have some feedback. Its usually the result of a compromised ground somewhere. How are the bulbs in the front park lights and rear tails behaving when the HLS is engaged? If you...

Re: What transfer case is in my 61 travellette????

It would likely be some version of the New Process 200. Could be 201 or 202. All were used in IH fullsize 'til 1970.

You didn't waste our time. That's an honest mistake, although it is the first time I've heard of it happening in my nearly two decades of playing in this sandbox. No harm was done. It was a bit of...

Re: Cluster F**k

Do you have a real oil pressure gauge (not the crapball stocker) hooked up and been monitoring it regularly during this time?

Re: Can't stop from Pinging

That doesn't make any sense. Timing measurements were taken from wire #8? I think like Hondo suggested, you need to re-examine your distributor stab and plug wire routing.

Re: Can't stop from Pinging

These are low compression engines. High test is meant for high compression engines. Unless the compression ratio was dramatically increased via machining, it should be able to run just fine on...

Re: 1965 D1100 4x4 driver/project

I have one observation from left field...that sure is a cute widdow tiny mototykal air filter you've got sitting on that massive dump truck motor!

As for your rear lights, the bulbs should be...
