Re: Holley 2300 2bbl Fuel Bowl Issues

Greg - I'm not sure what "lump" you're talking about, but the ported vac source is very clearly tapped on the leftmost edge of my image, it's being used for timing advance. You mentioned my desired...

Re: Holley 2300 2bbl Fuel Bowl Issues

Well, after looking into it a bit, it turns out the replacement bowl I bought is as good as scrap. There aren't threads up top for my adjustable needle and seat, there is no sight plug.

So...

In the image above, you can see a few things. One is my original IH p/n list 4306 Holley 2300, jetted #53 by mayben and sent to me ages ago for my 304. In the...

Thanks for the replies!

Re: dumb question (tf727)

Please don't use 90wt. I've used dexron iii the entire time, this is not a recommendation so much as a personal experience I'm sharing. It's worked for me so far.

As far as capacity... It hold...

Re: Basic 727 question...

From what I have gathered over a few short years of learning about these units, the factory hydraulic plumbing does not cycle fluid into the tc in park or neutral. A shift kit from transgo...

The contact info for ihon can be found http://www.IHPartsAmerica.com/contact.php (here.)

I second the idea of calling, I can't believe anyone would end up dissatisfied from the way these folks do...

Anyone who has experience with these modular holleys May be able to answer this question.

Re: New 1962 Scout project: Safety concerns (brakes, tires, steering)

While affiliated with ihon, michael is not the person for these questions. I would recommend finding the main ihon contact page - you can call Jeff at a reasonable hour and expect great customer...

Re: Rocker Assymbly & IHON replacment parts

As far as the way the rockers oil, I would say everything is "okay" even if you don't witness a large amount of oil slinging off of that side. If you look at the design of these welded rockers, it...

Checking up on a Scout II powertrain or two

I now have money, and apparently it's too heavy to carry anymore. So I turn to my two first IH engines, a 304 hooked up to an automatic, and a 345 hooked up to a t-19 wide. My primary excuse for...

Re: 78' Scout II 4 cyl. issues?

Just to further some info on this part... My 1977 ss Scout II had one of these, and the fail mode on mine was a slow vacuum leak with the dashpot on my 2210 slowly coming on over time. Made for...

Re: Heads for V8

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure lincoln made a 368" y-block with a 4.0" bore. Other than that, I've never heard of that designator before.

I don't have any operating experience relating to stores, but I can't see how an established company like the one you mentioned is worth censoring in an open-discussion subforum.

I have a local...

Re: Parts of 345 build

If you told your machinist that you're dead-set on rk's 0.022 steel shim gaskets it looks like you landed right on the tighter side of good quench allowance with 0.037". And apparently that tighter...

Re: Last chance to get my 304 running before I swap in a Powerstroke Diesel

My first suggestion would be to look at the carb - do you have any kind of linkages attached to the throttle arm other than the pedal connection? Have you verified that it can travel all the way to...

Re: Quiet the inside of a Scout II

"dynamat" is a name I hear a lot about. It seems like these vehicles offer quite a challenge in the noise control field, so good luck figuring out how to obtain a dull roar you can live with :d

Re: 345 V8 valvetrain noise

The sv engines in light-duty apps were all equipped with hydraulic valve trains as far as I know, so there is no adjustment other than a measured preload on the lifters themselves. A top-end rebuild...

Re: 304 optimal RPMs

Depends on what speed, and at what degree of load you plan on doing most of your operating. I've seen posts that claim 2500rpm @ 65mph works really well for whatever hills they pull. My Scout II is...
