Re: 1965 D1100 4x4 driver/project

I have one observation from left field...that sure is a cute widdow tiny mototykal air filter you've got sitting on that massive dump truck motor!

As for your rear lights, the bulbs should be...

Re: 1965 D1100 4x4 driver/project

I'm no body and fender man. That looks pretty bad. It only makes sense to address it when access is easiest.

Its a relay of some sort. Could be the horn.

Examine your u-joints for...

No Step on Snake!:hand: That will look awesome! Obviously I'm partial to that symbol also.

Re: 1965 D1100 4x4 driver/project

Poor, dumb fools. Far less painful to place your nuts in big vise and cinch'er down tight than to comply with those types of laws. Sorry, I kinda jacked your thread off in a the wrong direction. ...

Re: 1965 D1100 4x4 driver/project

Yep. I'm familiar with the area. Reminiscent of the towns Jacksonville and Gold Hill up here. I'm beginning to eyeball Idaho as well. If either of the two hideously draconian gun control...

Re: 1965 D1100 4x4 driver/project

Looks good, gunny. Gunsmith...mmmm. I'd suggest you leave the insanity of Cowlifornikayt behind and move up here to Oruhgawn, but this state has basically become Cali-north or Washy-south,...

Re: 1965 D1100 4x4 driver/project

Looks like you've got a single pulley alternator now, which should jive with pretty much any 10si off the shelf in that regard. You'll want to do a 3 wire hookup rather than a 1 wire. There are...

Re: 1965 D1100 4x4 driver/project

That may be the case. I'm more familiar with SII and later D-line buckets which are more kinda similar to the one which you're saying is not like all the others you're more familiar with. The reman...

Re: 1965 D1100 4x4 driver/project

We might have our directions mixed up. When I say left, my frame of reference is from behind the steering wheel, not as if I'm facing the front of the truck. That's the convention that most service...

Re: 1965 D1100 4x4 driver/project

Just wondering if, when you get done separating the wheat from the chaff, will there even be enough wheat left to make a sammich? It looks like good clean fun though. I feel for that poor kid who...

Re: Hydraulic Fluid capacity

I found this thread which may be helpful by simply doing a quick google search of your tractor model. You could do the same and with a little more time spent, you might find even more detailed...

Re: Hydraulic Fluid capacity

Yeah, this is the right place for asking tech questions, its just that this forum caters to a much different product than what you're after...in other words, not tractors, if that clears it up. I...

Sorry, I can't help you. This forum is generally geared towards and frequented by owners of IH Light Line vehicles, ie Scouts, Pickups, Travelalls etc. Perhaps someone knowledgeable about your...

Re: wheel spacers

From what I've read, wheel spacers really aren't the way to go. You're better off adjusting the turn stop bolts on the inside of each knuckle to stop the spring rub.

Re: '73 Scout 2 - 345 will not start

That's a Holley curved points distributor. The most common variation. Keep a close eye on your oil dipstick level. If it looks like you suddenly have a higher level in the crankcase and it smells...

Re: The "Fuel Tank" Thread

I don't think you can make a successful lasting repair of that plastic filler. Replacing it is best.

Re: '73 Scout 2 - 345 will not start

Alrighty then. You're well along on the diagnostic process. You can take the big lead from the coil off the distributor end and position it so the electrode has an air gap to ground. Starter cranking...

Sorry no one got to you before this. I usually try to cruise through here at least once a day, but I didn't notice this post until just now. Someone went to some trouble to repaint that engine...

Re: pickup tailgate question

I've only ever seen the plunger style on the pickups, but my knowledge there is limited to the '71 1210 in my signature. Yes, it has the plunger style. The cam and dog ear design looks very similar...

Re: 1965 D1100 4x4 driver/project

Cool truck. The axles are 3/4 ton running gear from a 1200 or even a later 1210. The PS pump/res unit is consistent with one that would be found in a full size platform rather than a Scout II. I...

Re: Rear Axle ID

I just found a few years old thread over on Binder Planet which indicates the axle in question is likely either an RA-5 or 6 as evidenced by the wheel lug pattern. Definitely not a Dana, or a Ford...

Re: Interchangable rear end for 64 C1300
