1904 from 152 to 196?

So I've got two 1904 carbs, both list #2494; one is on my currently running s80. I've come into an s800 196, but without the carb. So, I understand the mounting stud spacing is different (and the bore diameter?); do I have to start hunting for the correct Holley for the 196 (a 1904 or a 1920)?

My lurking leads me to believe I have three options:
1. Find the correct Holley for the 196 intake
2. Swap to the weber 32/36
3. Install efi

my question is, does option #4 exist?
4. Adapt list #2494 to 196 using ??? Holley parts, hopefully available from ihon (excuse me; IHPA)?

Of course there are other options, including adapting the 152 intake to the 196 head. Would that reduce the torque/hp of the 196? Sure the intake ports are huge, but does the 196 intake and stock carb contribute much over the 152 equipment?

This is for my (past & future, but not present) dd, so efi would be great, but for time & money I'd prefer to stick with the carb for now, and I understand the Holley is equal to or possibly better than the weber, particularly offroad. Wish mm was still healthy... :(

thanks for any help here!

I'll comment on the 152 mani on a 196. I believe IH went to the larger ports for a good reason on the 345 and 392. Beyond flow the mismatch is big enough to be an issue down the road.
Hold on untill you can find a good replacement for the oem 196 mixer.
